Who Needs to Comply with MTD?

• VAT-registered businesses with taxable turnover above £90,000 must use MTD-compatible software for VAT submissions.
• Since April 2026, self-employed individuals and landlords with an income over £50,000 have been required to follow Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax Self-Assessment (ITSA).
• From April 2027, this threshold lowers to £30,000.
• From April 2028, this threshold lowers to £20,000.
